Philadelphia Sports Fan Blues

I swear...Being a Philadelphia Sports fan is like never having a date for the prom...You're sittin around watching everybody else go and you're standing on the corner listening to a slow Isley Brothers jam and drinkin a Coke...Wait a minute....The visual of that was kind of scary!

When I was 9, the 76ers won their first NBA Championship...When I was 15 and 16 respectively,The Flyers won back to back Stanley Cups....I was 22 when the Phillies won the World Series...25 when the 76ers won their second NBA championship....and 50 when the photo above was taken...The Phillies won their second World Series....At the rate I'm going...I'll be 75 when the Eagles finally win a superbowl...

Guess I shouldn't complain....There are fans in some cities whose teams have never won anything!

The Double Standard Is Real

The Double Standard is real!

The officer in the top photo above has been sued twice, TWICE already for excessive force and is a suspected white supremacist. You should also know that the child he assaulted was new to the school and quite shy, didn't speak much and had few friends. Now you tell me why any of this should make a difference when it comes to this adult slinging a child across a room? And why would a male teacher call the police on a female child over gum or a cell phone?

Jordan Roof was treated to a Whopper With Cheese after he was arrested for nine murders of Black church goers!...

Oh!The Double Standard is real!

Hillary is Ready

I may have been on the wall or fence about Hillary Clinton before...but after seeing how bravely she stood up to what is basically a Republican witch hunt...and how unflappable she was....I'm going to place my endorsement for President in her lap...

Don't get me wrong...In my heart of hearts I am a Bernie Sanders fan...but he is a bit old for this game and being an admitted socialist...(Though there is nothing wrong with that)might scare the American public a bit much....I could hear the FOX News mouthpieces beating that horse to death...

So being pragmatic...I'm going to say that Hillary Clinton is the Democrats most electable candidate...And judging by what the other party has to offer..She shouldn't have a very hard time getting to the white house...

I mean...Is anyone really taking Donald Trump THAT SERIOUSLY at this point?? I think the novelty of his candidacy is starting to wear off now...He's dropping in the polls.

To quote Dan Rather-

"Hillary Clinton has done a lot in her life. But I think she likely cleared her path to the Democratic nomination for president, and maybe very well the Oval Office itself, by what she didn't do. She didn't lose her cool.

Her performance in a grueling marathon of a Congressional hearing on Benghazi (or more accurately on Clinton herself and maybe Sidney Blumenthal?) was one of poise, stoicism, self-confidence and maturity. Just the sort of attributes her questioners lacked. In the language of poker, she was drawing aces and the committee was drawing deuces. They might not admit it publicly, but even many Republican leaders know it's true. Hillary Clinton is a stronger general election candidate today than she was before the hearing.

It has often been said that you vote for president with your heart more than your head. And I think for all the questions about Clinton's record among the Democratic base, whether she is progressive enough on economic issues or too hawkish on foreign policy, the real sense of unease boiled down to intangible questions about her personality, values and character.

Yesterday assuaged many of those concerns. When combined with her recent debate performance and Biden deciding not to run, this is arguably one of the best stretches of her political career. Where are all those whither Hillary articles now? It is still early and a lot can still go wrong, but I believe this is the Hillary Clinton that so many Democrats wanted to love - tough, smart, unflappable, a woman who is ready to be president."

I agree...She's ready to be America's first female president!

A husband and wife are waiting at the bus stop with their nine children, A blind man joins them after a few minutes. when the bus arrives, they find it overloaded and only the wife and the nine kids are able to fit onto the bus.

So the husband and the blind man decide to walk. After a while, the husband gets irritated by the ticking of the stick of the blind man as he taps it on the sidewalk, and says to him:

"Hey Man...Why don't you put a piece of rubber at the end of your stick? That ticking sound is driving me crazy".

The Blind man replies, "If you had put a rubber at the end of YOUR stick, we'd be riding the bus, so shut the hell up."

A man turns forty so he goes to the doctor for his first rectal exam. A week later he comes in for another rectal exam and the doctor says "I guess you can never be too safe."

Two days later the man comes in requesting the same exam and the doctor says "Are you sure? I guess it's your money."

Suddenly the doctor feels a prick on his finger. He says "Here's your problem, you have a dozen roses in your rectum."

The man grins at him and says "Read the card. Read the card!"

Uncle Ben (Carson)

I can't believe that I used to admire this man when I was growing up....His story of coming from literally nothing and becoming a world famous neuro-surgeon....His successful operation in which he seperated congenital twins....I was a big fan....

Then he dared go outside of medicine and enter politics...It goes beyond him being a Republican...Because Colin Powell is a Republican and I still have big respect for him...

This goes deeper...This guy opened his mouth and revealed himself to be a straight fool as my late mother would say....

Half baked ideas are a kind way to describe some of the things that have come out of this guy's mouth...I have even tried to give him the benefit of the doubt and say that he couldn't have possibly have said some of the things attributed to him....but then I saw him on Television and heard with my own ears some of the things he's said and I just have to shake my head....

I'm shaking my head that he is in second place behind Donald Trump....But this says more about the people voting for him than it does him.,..

Happy Indigenous People's Day

"There are so many holidays we celebrate every year that mean nothing. Like Columbus Day. Nobody celebrates Columbus Day, nobody puts three ships in their front yard.

First of all, Columbus discovered the West Indies. Second of all, the land he discovered had occupants on it. That's like discovering someone's back yard." ~ Chris Rock

Even when I was a child in elementary school...I used to ask the question...Why are we celebrating Christopher Columbus?

How did he "Discover America" when there were already people here when he got here?I would ask....

You can understand why teachers hated me...I would ask the annoying questions...

And later...I realized that he didn't even know where he was when he arrived...He thought he was in India...Which is why he arrogantly named the native people who were here when he arrived -INDIANS!  And Native Americans have unfortunately held on to that moniker ever since..

Columbus Day as it were is meaningless and historically inaccurate... I've since found out that he wasn't even the first white man to arrive in the Western Hemisphere...There is now evidence that the Vikings may have been here at least 100 years before him as well as others...

Some of us though still like to hold on to myths....

Me, I'd rather deal with the truth....

So Happy Indigenous People's Day!

Crazy Isn't it?

Not even the white so called Liberal and Progressive media covered yesterday's Million Man March Anniversary in Washington D.C.

It looked like it was more people there than when I went in 1995.....

Crazy how things turn out....The news media covers what it wants to cover....I guess they feel as if they ignore this, then it didn't happen...We'll go away....

Fat Chance!

Somebody Doesn't Want Somebody To Vote

Here we go again!   As another Presidential election looms and as mid term elections loom, the powers that be or rather the powers on the right that be are gearing up to try a lot of shenanigans to keep people from voting..

Well let's just call it like it really is...To keep African-Americans  and Latinos from voting in masse...Does the word gerrymandering ring a bell?

It's a fancy word for redistricting....Politicians are changing districts and demanding that people have photo ID's anything to slow down voting in the Black and Latino and poor communities...(They used to use the Klan...)

"Despite a budgetary pretext, the consequence of this decision is to deny the most vulnerable in Alabama an equal opportunity to obtain a means to vote," Sewell wrote. "These closures will potentially disenfranchise Alabama's poor, elderly, disabled and black communities."

Before this President, Barack Obama was elected....Does anyone recall having to have a photo ID to vote?  Does anyone recall anyone crowing about voter fraud?  I do not...

The closures, announced last week, drew a firestorm of criticism -- including from Democratic Presidential hopeful,Hillary Clinton, who called them "a blast from the Jim Crow past" -- out of concerns that it will be that much harder for poor and minority citizens to meet the requirements for the state's tough voter ID law.

But don't you see? That's the plan!

Alabama officials have continued to defend the voter ID law and say those without driver's licenses or the handful of other approved forms can obtain free state issued ID from local boards of registrar.

We'll see....It's Alabama after all...The deep south or shall I call it as I see it..The Dirty South....If you can't win the game fair and square...change the rules...rig the game...

Thank God...Alabama has Represenative Terri Sewell ...I wrote about her before in 2011...

She was representing her district that had been struck hard by tornados and fighting the then Tea Party led Congress that was holding up relief funds in a failing effort to make the Obama Administration look bad....

These past 6 or 7 years has been like armed combat politically...Thank God we have soldiers like her on the front lines who are actually doing the people's business and looking out for those who have no voice otherwise...

Your Priorities As A Human Being

Weekend Humor

Three girls go into the doctors office.

The first takes off her shirt and the doctor notices that she has a blue ''Y'' on her chest.

He asks "How did you get that?"

She answers "Well my boyfriend goes to Yale and he leaves his Yale sweatshirt on even when we make love."

The next girl comes in and has a red ''H'' on her chest.

She explains "Well my boyfriend goes to Harvard and he leaves his sweatshirt on even when we make love."

The final girl comes in and has a 'W' on her chest.

The doctor asks "Let me guess, you have a boyfriend that goes to Wisconsin?"

She answers "No, a girlfriend at Michigan. Why?"
