That Is The Question

When Ronald Reagan ran for president in 1980, he asked the American people if they felt as though they were better off now than they were four years before? Apparently, the majority of the American people didn't and they elected him president. It is now 2008.

In 1998, the cost of unleaded regular gas was $0.89 cents + 9/10 a gallon, unleaded plus was $1.03 a gallon, and unleaded premium was $1.13 a gallon. Today, unleaded regular gas averages about $4.03 a gallon in most places, unleaded plus averages $4.13 a gallon, and unleaded premium averages about $4.23 a gallon.

In 2000, when Bill Clinton left office, we had a surplus. Today, we have a historical deficit... we still had the Twin Towers in New York... New Orleans was still above sea level and had more residents... Wall Street was healthy... people were actually MAKING money... interest rates were the lowest they had been since the days when Beaver Cleaver was on television.

Well America, it's been eight years. How are you doing?

I work on Wall Street, in finance need I sat more?

I never thought that in my life time, I'd see a war of this scale, a terrorist attack, and a depression.

I feel like we are living through the era my grandparents did with Pearl Harbor

I have so many problems leaving a comment on your page...it just freezes up...then I have to come back. Weird.

Anywho...You are so right. Home rates were low and savings rates were high. Now...savings rates are almost equal to putting your money under the mattress. It's ridiculous!

Struggling Boo, gas is a t a major shortage in GA...the Governor is seriously thinking about cutting out some school days to conserve...we have even introduced the non-EPA induced gas just to make it...i go nowhere on weekends and catch the bus on weekdays...the gas stations are overpriced and lined up...i just shake my head...it seems we are heading backwards instead of forward.

I feel like i'm doing worse because I have had to endure eight years of even looking at George Bush. He got us into a war that's going to cost at least a trillion dollars by the time it's over. It's disgusting.

KEEPING THE FAITH: RANDOM PRAYERS "ON THE DOWNLOAD"

DEAR GOD: Sometimes it is so hard to wait. To wait for new things to happen in my life. To wait for you to answer my prayers. To wait for the open doors that may lead me into a new way of being. During the time of waiting, it seems that all I can think of is having what it is I am waiting for. At times I feel weary of asking and waiting, and I wonder if you really hear my prayers at all, if you are ignoring me, or if you are simply refusing to give me my heart’s desire. A part of me knows that you want my best, and that your time is not my time, but Lord, it is still so hard to wait. Deepen my trust, O Lord, during the times when my heart longs for what can only come in the fullness of time. Give me a calm assurance that your will for me is grander than anything I could ever imagine. Still my mind and heart in your love so that I am mindful of the grace you are draping around me every single day, every single moment. I ask this for the sake of your love. Amen.
