What I've Learned

1. Sometimes, letting go of a past hurt is easier said than done.

2. At the end of the day, a good hot meal and a nice hot bath goes a long way towards cooling you off and relieving stress. (Especially, after you've had a day when you just wanted to ring somebody's neck!)

3. I talk to God quite often and I'm pretty sure I've given Him some of His best laughs.

4. There's nothing like a recession to teach you what's really important in life.

5. Drinking a nice hot cup of coffee while watching the sunrise is indeed a liberating experience.

6. Every morning that I wake up with someone beside me is a blessing... many people sleep alone.

7. Marriage is, of course, a loving relationship but what a lot of people fail to realize is that it is also a business contract.

8. Good music, regardless of genre, is good today and will still be good 20 or 30 years down the road.

9. A little free-floating anxiety is good for you.

10. I would rather be a well-groomed man than a well-dressed man. (Take some time to think about what I just said.)

Number 1 is so true, it’s harder for some people to move on than others. I can identify with number 8 too so that’s why I worry about many of today’s tunes.

As always a lovely post Keith

I am really feeling you on this whole post. Thats why I like you...you keep ish real, and am sooooo feeling #6. I sleep alone every night...and to have someone to really enjoy your life with is a blessing. Letting go of pain is hard to do...but if you go out and just have fun...it makes the pain go at ease..

how are you?

Great list! And AMEN to #7 about Marriage. The minute folks figure that out the more successful their marriages will be.

I'll take well groomed over well-dressed ANY day! i cant stand a man with dirty nails or a rugged beard...clothes can be changed alot easier than habits.

and speaking of your coffee/sunrise statement, I'm going to fix myself some hot chocolate right now...it's cold out there!

KEEPING THE FAITH: RANDOM PRAYERS "ON THE DOWNLOAD"

DEAR GOD: Sometimes it is so hard to wait. To wait for new things to happen in my life. To wait for you to answer my prayers. To wait for the open doors that may lead me into a new way of being. During the time of waiting, it seems that all I can think of is having what it is I am waiting for. At times I feel weary of asking and waiting, and I wonder if you really hear my prayers at all, if you are ignoring me, or if you are simply refusing to give me my heart’s desire. A part of me knows that you want my best, and that your time is not my time, but Lord, it is still so hard to wait. Deepen my trust, O Lord, during the times when my heart longs for what can only come in the fullness of time. Give me a calm assurance that your will for me is grander than anything I could ever imagine. Still my mind and heart in your love so that I am mindful of the grace you are draping around me every single day, every single moment. I ask this for the sake of your love. Amen.
