O Thou in Whose Presence

O Thou in Whose presence my soul takes delight, On whom in afflication I call. My comfort by day and my song in the night, My hope, my salvation, my all.

Restore, my dear Savior, the light of Thy face, Thy soul cheering comfort impart; And let the sweet tokens of pardoning grace bring joy to my desolate heart.

Cousin, these are verses of one of my favorite hymns. The Lord's peace and comfort passes our human understanding. After my surgery I sang this anytime I felt uncomfortable and The Lord sent me His peace.

O why should I wander, an alien from Thee, Or cry in the desert for bread? Thy foes will rejoice when my sorrows they see, And smile at the tears I have shed.

But here's the best part:

He looks! and ten thousands of angels rejoice, And myriads wait for His word. He speaks! and eternity, filled with His voice, Reechoes the praise of the Lord.

I'm shouting...and the Lord's healing. Amen and Hallelujah!!

KEEPING THE FAITH: RANDOM PRAYERS "ON THE DOWNLOAD"

DEAR GOD: You know the emptiness of my heart. Sometimes I wonder if you are there, if you hear, and if there is any hope that my situation will be different. When loneliness looms around me, when my questions are unanswered, when no one seems to care, when days and nights go on and on with no change, when I fall deeper into despair, I pray that you will let your peace fall upon me as gently as the spring rain that waters the earth. Remind me of your unconditional and eternal love for me. Assure me of your presence. Fill my heart with the hope that my life is held in your hand. Lift my pain so that joy may flow freely again through me. I ask this for the sake of your love. Amen.
