KEEPING THE FAITH: RANDOM PRAYERS "ON THE DOWNLOAD"
DEAR GOD: When my life is moving along at break-neck speed, I feel so distracted from the things that are really important to my heart and soul. It seems like my lack of focus keeps me from paying attention to what really nourishes me. Help me learn to give less priority to what only leaves me feeling empty. Remind me that when I give priority to what is really important everything else falls into place with greater ease. I ask this for the sake of your love. Amen.

Keith, I, a Christian, enjoy Bill Maher's show. He's politically on point with his witty criticism. He picks at us by showing the hypocrisy of some in our faith. I say that we need some reminders of how the world perceives us and how we carry out the great command. The world is to see Christ by the care we give each other and those in difficult circumstances - the hungry, infirmed, incarcerated. Bill calls out those who profess love of God and yet hate and oppress their neighbors. Bill's getting his month's vacation and I'll be glad to see him in September.
