I remember being asked why I did something once.
Since I knew that regardless what I said I was screwed anyway, I remarked. "It seemed like a good idea at the time." In retrospect I should have said "I don't recall" Might have faired better.

DEAR GOD: You know the emptiness of my heart. Sometimes I wonder if you are there, if you hear, and if there is any hope that my situation will be different.
