It was a rite of passage , I knew it was spring when the Isley Brothers released a new album... The single would usually drop in late March or early April and the full album would drop the first week of June...And with that..Summer had begun...
This was in the 70's mind you...and here we are in 2013...and although the Isley Brothers no longer exist...The beautiful tenor of Ronnie Isley still exists and just like that, this new single.."Dinner and a Movie" has dropped...
Yes...Now I know that it's truly spring!

KEEPING THE FAITH: RANDOM PRAYERS "ON THE DOWNLOAD"
DEAR GOD: I feel so uncertain, so unsure. I want to trust that you are present, that you are acting on my behalf, and that you hear and will answer my prayers. Yet, my confidence is spent, my faith flat. You speak in my heart and tell me to seek your face, and I am longing for the sureness of your presence, the touch of your breath, the warmth of your love. Ahh, I too remember those springs when the Isley Brothers always had a hot new release! Glad at least one of them is still performing.
You're so right about the IB's (or those "3 fat boys from Teaneck, NJ" as the late great DJ Eddie Ojay used to refer to them). Vivid spring & summer seasons of the past, indeed. Will be on the lookout of Ron's latest jam.
