Weekend Humor

A guy meets a childhood pal: "Heyyy, What are you doing for yourself these days?"

"I'm a fireman. " he says

"Oh yeah? My 15-year-old kid wants to be a fireman. " says the man.

"Well, if you want some good advice, you've got to install in your house a pole that will go to the basement so you kid can practice, 'cause the hardest thing for a fireman is to jump off into space and catch that pole in the middle of the night. " says the man.

Ten years later, the two guys happen to meet again:

"Well, did your son become a fireman?" he asked.

"No, but I have a daughter who is an exotic dancer." he sighed.

KEEPING THE FAITH: RANDOM PRAYERS "ON THE DOWNLOAD"

DEAR GOD: There are times when I feel completely helpless to alter the circumstances in my life. I am powerless to turn around a bad economy, or ensure a favorable report from my doctor, or guarantee my spouse will always love me, or make sure I am never in an accident. When I sense that I have no control over what is occurring in my life, my energy lags and fear and frustration begin to overwhelm me. Let your spirit of peace spill freely over me until I recover my inner calm. Help me remember that it is not control that gives me peace, but knowing that I am loved and beloved by the heart of heaven. Amen.

"Mommy, can I go to Timmy's blog and play?"
