Weekend Humor

One day three golfers were playing a round of golf.

They were on the ninth hole near the highway getting ready to tee off.

One of the golfers had his club in mid swing when he noticed a funeral procession coming up the highway.

He lowered his club and took off his hat as he stood there reverently waiting for it to pass.

The other two golfers followed suit and all three stood quietly until the last car was out of sight. The first golfer then made a beautiful drive right down the middle of the fairway. "You know Jack?"

One of the other golfers said. "That was really nice the way you waited for that funeral procession to pass."

"Well I felt it was the least I could do." Jack responded.

"After all she did give me 30 of the best years of her life." he said.

What Joy Said.

Certain people sure like or enjoy being outraged...

The latest piece of "outrage" comes from statements MSNBC personality Joy Reid made last week following the shooting of a Republican senator...

MSNBC’s “AM Joy” host Joy Reid is receiving criticism for attacking the politics of House majority whip Steve Scalise, who is still in the hospital after a gunman opened fired last week on the GOP Congressional baseball team.

“It’s a delicate thing because, obviously everybody is wishing the congressman well and hoping that he recovers. But Steve Scalise has a history that we’ve all been forced to sort of ignore on race,” Reid said over the weekend.

Reid continued: “He did come to leadership after some controversy over attending a White nationalists event, which he says he didn’t know what it was. Because he is in jeopardy and everyone is pulling for him, are we required in a moral sense to put that aside?” she asked.

Her comments were called appalling by some..She was accused of kicking a man when he's down by others...

Point is...She didn't tell not one lie...Everything she said about him is the truth...

Some of these same people who are so outraged...aren't outraged when a Black person is shot and killed by trigger happy police and then in death they are put on trial and villified for everything they have done in the past as a reason to justify their death now...

Save your fake outrage....

No..It is never a good thing when anyone is shot for no reason, but the things this man,Steve Scalise  has said and did HAD a bearing on his being shot. The crazed gunman was looking for people like him last week...

Steve Scalise was not an innocent bystander, nor a first grader in a classroom. He fought common sense protections in the legislature, he attended racist meetings and said and did racist things. You cannot take actions that whip outrage in people and not expect an equal and opposite reaction. As has been noted....karma is a raging bitch!

While Joy Reid was making these comments, an on-screen graphic showed Steve Scalise’s record highlighting his more polarizing decisions, such as sponsoring a bill to define marriage as between a man and a women.

Joy Reid also sent out a tweet that said, “Scalise was shot by a white man with a violent background, and saved by a black lesbian police officer, and yet …”

Yes and yet...He was saved by two Black people ..A Black male officer and a Black Lesbian Officer..

Remember that the next time you vote to scuttle a civil rights bill or make light of the Black lives matter movemant Mr. Scalise..

Fox News media guru Howie Kurtz was still upset about Reid’s comments, calling her “appalling.”
“While Steve Scalise remains in a hospital bed fighting for his life, she’s attacking him because she doesn’t like his politics,” Kurtz said. “For Joy Reid to tweet that Scalise was attacked by a white man… why bring race into it?”

The Hill media columnist Joe Concha made a prediction about the situation, “Here’s how the Joy Reid thing unfolds: She goes viral for profoundly reckless/myopic Scalise tweet. Blowback ensues. Forced apology follows.”

I hope not...Why apologize for giving your opinion? Your honest opinion or is it only okay when the Right Wingers on Fox News do it??

Miss me with your fake outrage!

Another Miscarriage of Justice

Again this happens...Another Black man shot...By police...The entire thing captured live on Facebook...The world sees it, but again, 12 jurors can not and another cop goes free...

In St. Paul, Minnesota-

A  police officer was acquitted of manslaughter Friday in the fatal shooting of Philando Castile, a black motorist whose girlfriend streamed the aftermath live on Facebook.

Jeronimo Yanez was also cleared of two lesser charges in the July traffic stop in a St. Paul suburb, drawing an emotional reaction from Castile family members who stormed out of the courtroom.

"The fact in this matter is that my son was murdered, and I'll continue to say murdered, because where in this planet (can you) tell the truth, and you be honest, and you still be murdered by the police of Minnesota," his mother, Valerie Castile said, referring to the fact that her son was shot seconds after he volunteered to the officer, "Sir, I have to tell you, I do have a firearm on me."

"He didn't deserve to die the way he did," Philando Castile's sister, Allysza, said, through tears. "I will never have faith in the system."

And she shouldn't...Because it doesn't work for African-Americans...Not anymore.!

Supporters of the family planned a 7 p.m. CDT rally at the Capitol. Meanwhile, the city of St. Anthony swiftly announced plans to dismiss Yanez, saying it had concluded "the public will be best served" if he left the department.

Jurors deliberated for about 29 hours over five days before reaching the verdict in the death of Castile, who had a permit for the weapon. Prosecutors argued that Yanez had overreacted and that Castile, a school cafeteria worker, was not a threat.

Officer Yanez, who is Latino, testified that Castile was pulling his gun out of his pocket despite his commands not to do so. The defense also argued Castile was high on marijuana and said that affected his actions.

Yanez stared ahead with no reaction as the verdict was read. Afterward, one of his attorneys, Tom Kelly, said the defense was "satisfied."

"We were confident in our client. We felt all along his conduct was justified. However that doesn't take away from the tragedy of the event," Kelly said.

Prosecutors declined to comment.

Castile's shooting was among a string of killings of blacks by police around the U.S., including two other cases on trial this week in Ohio and Wisconsin. The live streaming of its aftermath by Castile's girlfriend, Diamond Reynolds, attracted even more attention.

The public outcry included protests in Minnesota that shut down highways and surrounded the governor's mansion. Castile's family claimed he was profiled because of his race, and the shooting renewed concerns about how police officers interact with minorities.

In reaction to the verdict, Democratic Gov. Mark Dayton offered his condolences to the Castile family, calling his death "a terrible tragedy" in a statement that made no mention of Yanez.

Dayton drew criticism in the days after the shooting for suggesting that Castile might not have been shot if he was white. He wouldn't have been...and we all know it!

The evidence included squad car video, but its wide view didn't capture exactly what happened inside the car — leaving jurors to essentially decide whether they believed Yanez when he said Castile had his hand on the gun.

Prosecutors questioned whether Yanez had even seen it, and witnesses testified that it was in a pocket of Castile's shorts when paramedics pulled him from the car.

Castile ironically enough might have been better off if he had not of mentioned it...Though it's damned if you do and damned if you don't.

Juror Dennis Ploussard said the jury was split 10-2 early this week in favor of acquittal. They spent a lot of time dissecting the "culpable negligence" requirement for conviction, and the last two holdouts eventually agreed Friday on acquittal. He declined to say whether he thought Yanez acted appropriately, but said the jury sympathizes with the Castile family.

"We struggled with it. I struggled with it. It was very, very hard," Ploussard said, adding that he thought the jury delivered the right verdict.

He would not identify the two early holdouts, but said they were not the jury's only two black members. The rest of the jurors were white. None was Latino.

Yanez was charged with second-degree manslaughter, punishable by up to 10 years in prison, though sentencing guidelines suggested around four years would have been more likely. The lesser counts related to endangering Castile's girlfriend and her then-4-year-old daughter for firing his gun into the car near them.

Yanez testified that he stopped Castile in the St. Paul suburb of Falcon Heights because he thought he looked like one of two men who had robbed a nearby convenience store a few days earlier. Castile's car had a faulty brake light, giving the 29-year-old officer reason to pull him over, several experts testified.

The squad-car video shows Yanez approaching Castile's car and asking for a driver's license and proof of insurance. Castile appears to give something to Yanez through the driver's side window. Castile then informs the officer he's carrying a weapon, but before he finishes his sentence, Yanez has his hand on his own gun and is pulling it out of the holster. There is shouting, and Yanez screams, "Don't pull it out!" before he fires seven shots into the car, five of which hit Castile. Prosecutors say Castile's last words were: "I wasn't reaching for it."

After shooting Castile, Yanez is heard on the squad-car video telling a supervisor that he didn't know where Castile's gun was, then that he told Castile to get his hand off it. Yanez testified that he meant that he didn't see the gun at first, then saw it in Castile's "right thigh area." He said Castile ignored his commands to stop pulling it out of his pocket. Yanez's voice choked with emotion as he talked of being "scared to death" and thinking of his wife and baby daughter in the split-second before he fired.

Prosecutors argued that Yanez could have taken lesser steps, such as asking to see Castile's hands or asking where the gun was.

Reynolds testified that she began recording the shooting's aftermath because she feared for her life and wanted to make sure the truth was known. Defense attorneys pointed to inconsistencies in several of her statements.

Of course they did!

We may never really know everything that happened.. But what we do know..What I know...Had he of been white, Yanez would not have been afraid for his life and would not have shot this man to death...He'd of done everything possible not to have to had used force...

If you believe anything different, you're part of the problem!

The Continuing Gun Control Discussion

Republicans don't like to talk about gun control....Despite the spike of mass shootings and violence in our inner cities...They have often deflected the conversation away...Instead trying to get people t talk about mental health...

Mental Health is indeed a conversation we need to be having...but yesterday and I hate to use this as an example...Some Republicans got shot...I'm not using such a horrific incident as yesterday's for humor or political fodder...I'm just asking out loud...In wake of yesterday's tragedy, will we now have this discussion?

A gunman opened fire on a Republican congressional baseball team that was practicing on a suburban Virginia field Wednesday and Rep. Steve Scalise, R-La., was among the wounded, authorities said.

Police in Alexandria said five people were provided medical transport and that a suspect was in custody.

"Rep. Steve Scalise of Louisiana, a true friend and patriot, was badly injured but will fully recover," President Trump tweeted. "Our thoughts and prayers are with him."

Capitol Police officers were at the practice when the shooting began and quickly returned fire, spokesman Matthew Verderosa said. Alexandria Chief Michael Brown said his officers arrived three minutes after the first emergency call came in at 7:09 a.m. ET, and two of them joined the gunfight.
Rep. Roger Williams, R-Texas, said a member of his staff was among the wounded, and his spokesman said the staffer was in stable condition.

Rep. Chuck Fleischmann, R-Tenn., said the baseball practice session was almost over when the shooting began on the field.

“I heard a bang, and I thought it sounded like a gun. I never saw a shooter," he said.  "I heard him. I was close to the damn thing. Some of our people have been hit. This is horrible. I got bloody running and jumping into the dugout.”

Fleischmann estimated there were 50 to 60 people at the practice, including House members, senators and their staffs. “Many have been shot, but a lot like me got bloody running for cover,” he said.
“It is just a madhouse here,” Fleischmann said. “It’s horrible. I’ve never experienced anything like that.”

Sen. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., who was at the scene, said several people were shot but that Scalise was the only House member wounded.

"We heard a very loud shot" during batting practice," Flake said. Then many more shots, and Capitol Police returned fire.

Scalise spokesman Chris Bond said he would be checking with the hospital throughout the day for updates on the condition of the congressman and the other wounded people.
“Right now everyone is focused on praying," Bond said.

Rep. Mo Brooks, R-Ala., told CNN, people scattered when the shooting began. Scalise was standing in the in the infield and fell where he stood.

"He was not able to move under his own power. He was dragging his body from second base," Brooks said. "There was not a whole lot we could do. He was shot in the hip. I think it was not a life-threatening wound."

"It's not easy when you see people around you being shot and you don't have a weapon yourself," Brooks said. "You feel helpless."

White House spokesman Sean Spicer said President Trump and Vice President Pence were aware of the incident.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with all affected," he said.

The shooting took place at Eugene Simpson Stadium Park, in the Del Ray section of Alexandria about seven miles from the Capitol. It's a quiet community made up of restaurants, small businesses, lots of families. It's considered a "safe" neighborhood where people walk around outside until late at night. The field serves as a community hub, with games and activities at all hours.

The team of Republican congressman and staff members were practicing for a charity baseball game scheduled for later this week against a Democratic team. Rep. Jared Huffman, D-Calif., said his team was practicing when they heard about the attack on the Republicans.

"We're safe & with police, everyone praying for GOP colleagues, staff & Cap police," Huffman tweeted.

Now Can we talk intelligently about the need for gun control??

So You're Gonna Fire Everyone Who Investigates You Huh?

Can you believe this guy? Your President?? Every week I ask myself this question...

A friend of the president says Donald Trump is considering "terminating" special counsel Robert Mueller.
Newsmax CEO Chris Ruddy tells Judy Woodruff of "PBS NewsHour": "I think he's considering perhaps terminating the special counsel. I think he's weighing that option."

Again I ask ....DO YOU BELIEVE THIS GUY?

The White House did not immediately respond to questions about Ruddy's claims.

Under current Justice Department regulations, such a firing would have to be done by Attorney General Jeff Sessions' deputy, Rod Rosenstein, not the president— though those regulations could theoretically be set aside.

Robert Mueller is leading the investigation into Russia's meddling in the 2016 election and potential ties between Moscow and Trump's presidential campaign. Sessions has recused himself from the investigation.

Donald Trump really wants this Russia thing to go away...

But with every tweet, and every mis step...He digs a deeper hole for himself...  Sometimes when there is no move to make..It's best to be still and quiet...

I guess your President missed that memo!

Weekend Humor

A Frenchman, and Englishman, and a New Yorker were captured by cannibals.
The chief of the cannibals comes to them and says "Guys, I have good news and bad news."
...
"The bad news is that now that we've caught you, we're going to kill you. We will put you in a pot and cook you, eat you, and then use your skins to build a canoe."

"The good news is that you get to choose how you die."

The Frenchman says, in a very heavy french accent, "I take ze sword."

When the chief gives him a sword the Frenchman takes it, exclaims "Vive la France," and runs himself through.

The Englishman is next. He looks the chief in the eye and says "A pistol for me, please."

The chief gives him the pistol. The Englishman cocks the gun, points it at his head, yells "God save the queen!" and blows his brains out.

The chief turns to the New Yorker. "Gimme a fork," the man says, with complete disdain.

The chief is puzzled, but he shrugs and gives the man a fork.

The New Yorker takes the fork and starts jabbing himself all over his body - the stomach, the sides, the chest, his arms, his legs, everywhere.

Blood is gushing out of what seems like every inch of his body. It is horrible.

The chief is appalled, and asks "My God, what are you doing?"

The New Yorker looks up at him from the ever expanding pool of blood and says "So much for your canoe, you stupid bastard!"

Ughhh, Have a great weekend everybody!
