Weekend Humor

A little girl spoke to her teacher about whales.

The teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because even though it is a very large mammal, its throat is very small.

The little girl said, "But how can that be? Jonah was swallowed by a whale."

Irritated, the teacher reiterated that a whale could not swallow a human. "It is physically impossible!" she said.

Undaunted, the little girl said, "Well, when I get to heaven I will ask Jonah."

To this, the teacher said, "What if Jonah went to hell?"

The little girl replied, "Then YOU ask him!"

Here Come The Dems!

This is the kind of post this Blog was made for....A Political moment in time...I live here in Philadelphia as you all know if you've been reading this blog...and the Democratic Party is having their National convention here in the city of my birth..The City I still call home...I couldn't be more excited after that Hate fest and Circus in Cleveland last week called the Republican National Convention, but was esssentially the Donald Trump show.

As the city eagerly awaits...The Democratic Party has it's own dysfunction in it's own house...Though not quite as bad as The Republicans...

Yesterday..Debbie Wasserman Schultz  resigned under pressure as Democratic Party chairwoman, a stunning leadership shakeup as party officials gathered here in Philadelphia to nominate Hillary Clinton.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz's announcement yesterday follows a firestorm over hacked emails suggesting the Democratic National Committee favored Hillary Clinton during the primary, despite pledging neutrality. The leaked emails prompted primary runner-up Bernie Sanders to call for Wasserman Schultz's immediate resignation.

In a statement, Debbie Wasserman Schultz said she will step down at the end of the four-day convention. She said she plans to formally open and close the convention, as well as address delegates.

This could lead to a chorus of boos from Bernie Sanders  ,not unlike what happened to Ted Cruz last week at the Republican Convention when he refused to endorse Donald Trump!

Her statement does not address the email controversy.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz's swift ouster underscores party leaders' desire to avoid convention confrontations with Sanders' loyal supporters.

The chairwoman has been a lightning rod for criticism throughout the presidential campaign, with Sanders repeatedly accusing the DNC of backing Hillary Clinton.

Bernie Sanders said the 19,000 emails published by the website Wikileaks appeared to confirm his suspicions.

In one leaked email, a DNC official wondered whether Bernie Sanders' religious beliefs could be used against him, questioning whether the candidate may be an atheist.

Bernie Sanders pressed for Debbie Wasserman Schultz to quit as chairwoman immediately. He also suggested that Clinton's choice of running mate, Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine, was a disappointment and that he would have preferred Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, a favorite of progressives and liberals like myself.

"His political views are not my political views. He is more conservative than I am. Would I have preferred to see somebody like an Elizabeth Warren selected by Secretary Clinton? Yes, I would have," Bernie Sanders told NBC's "Meet the Press."

The Clinton team worked to portray their party's convention in a different light from the just concluded Republican gathering in Cleveland, where Donald Trump accepted the GOP nomination but party divisions flared when his chief rival, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, refused to endorse the billionaire businessman.

Trump cast himself as the law-and-order candidate in a nation suffering under crime and hobbled by immigration, as the GOP convention stuck to a gloom-and-doom theme. Democrats said they wanted to convey a message of optimism and improving the lives of all Americans.

But party disunity also seems to be a factor also here in Philadelphia, given Bernie Sanders' demands for a new leader and general unhappiness among his many supporters about how the nomination process unfolded.

Norman Solomon, a delegate who supports Bernie Sanders, says there is talk among Sanders' delegates of walking out during Kaine's acceptance speech or turning their backs as a show of protest.

Mr.Solomon said he believes a "vast majority" of Sanders delegates support these kinds of protests to express their dismay. Sanders' supporters say they are concerned that Kaine is not progressive enough.
Dan O'Neal, 68, is a retired school teacher and delegate from Arizona, said Debbie Wasserman Schultz has to be censured.

"We knew they were stacking the deck against Bernie from the get-go, but this type of stuff coming out is outrageous," he said. "It proves our point that they've tried to marginalize him and make it as difficult as possible."

Donald Trump's campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, agreed, saying Sanders' supporters "have a lot to complain about."

"The emails have proven the system was rigged from the start," Manafort told "Fox News Sunday."

Hillary Clinton's campaign manager, Robby Mook, tried to shift blame away from DNC officials to "Russian state actors" who, he said, may have hacked into DNC computers "for the purpose of helping Donald Trump," the Republican presidential nominee.

How the emails were stolen hasn't been confirmed.

"It was concerning last week that Donald Trump changed the Republican platform to become what some experts would regard as pro-Russian," Mook said.

Mrs. Clinton is within just days of her long-held ambition to become the party's official presidential nominee.
After the DNC released a slightly trimmed list of superdelegates — those are the party officials who can back any candidate — it now takes 2,382 delegates to formally clinch the nomination.

Hillary Clinton has 2,814 when including superdelegates, according to an Associated Press count. Bernie Sanders has 1,893.

Bernie Sanders has endorsed Clinton, but his delegates are pushing for a state-by-state tally. The state-by-state roll call is scheduled for Tuesday.

Also Sunday, Kaine and his wife, Anne Holton, were back at their longtime church in Richmond, Virginia, a day after he made his campaign debut with Clinton.

Tim Kaine, a former choir member at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, sang a solo during Communion. He later told reporters outside the church: "We needed some prayers today and we got some prayers, and we got some support and it really feels good."

Up tonight....First Lady Michelle Obama

And the man himself ,Bernie Sanders....

Weekend Humor

A truck driver was driving between towns on a country road when he spotted a gorgeous woman with huge breasts hitchhiking.

He stopped without hesitation and she climbed into the cab showing mountains of cleavage.

Two miles further down the road, he got a flat, pulled to the side of the road and got out to inspect the tire.

He was fiddling around with the wheel, when the woman opened the window and shouted down, "Do you need a screwdriver?"

The driver replied, all smiles, "Might as well. I can't get this damn hub cap off."

Hands Up..Don't Shoot Again!

Of Course today, Everybody is talking about Ted Cruz appeared at the Republican National Convention and DID not endorse Donald trump...and was subsequently booed off the floor..

While that is indeed news worthy...Another Black man was shot last night by police.. An unarmed Black man...Fortunately for him.. He will live to talk about it!

A North Miami, Fla., caretaker was shot and wounded by police Monday as he tried to retrieve a 23-year-old autistic man who had wandered from a mental-health center into the street, the Miami Herald reports.

Cellphone video released Wednesday shows the caretaker, Charles Kinsey, lying on the ground, with his hands in the air, trying to reason with police officers as they approach Kinsey and his patient, the autistic man.

When I went to the ground, I’m going to the ground just like this here, with my hands up,” Kinsey, a behavioral therapist, said, according to WSVN. “And I am laying down here just like this, and I’m telling them again, ‘Sir, there is no need for firearms. I’m unarmed, he’s an autistic guy. He got a toy truck in his hand.’

Charles Kinsey said that before he got shot, he was trying to calm his patient, who can be heard in the video screaming at Charles Kinsey to “shut up.”

“Rinaldo, please be still. Rinaldo, sit down. Rinaldo, lay on your stomach,” Charles Kinsey ..can be heard on the video telling his patient.

Then Charles Kinsey is shot in the leg by a police officer.

“I’m like this right here, and when he shot me, it was so surprising,” Charles Kinsey said. “It was like a mosquito bite, and when it hit me, I’m like, ‘I still got my hands in the air, and I said, ‘No, I just got shot! And I’m saying, ‘Sir, why did you shoot me?’ and his words to me, he said, ‘I don’t know.’'

My life flashed in front of me,” he added. “When he hit me, my first thing I’m thinking, I’m thinking about my family.”

According to WSVN, Kinsey said that what upset him most about the incident was what happened after he was shot.

“They flipped me over, and I’m faced down in the ground, with cuffs on, waiting on the rescue squad to come. I’d say about 20, about 20 minutes it took the rescue squad to get there. And I was like, bleeding—I mean bleeding—and I was like, ‘Wow,’” he told the news station.

On Wednesday evening, a group called the Circle of Brotherhood, which works to solve problems in the community, stood outside the North Miami Police Department, demanding answers in the shooting. Charles Kinsey is a member of the organization.

Unlike others...He will live to tell his story...He won't be easily demonized in death..Since he's fortunately still amongst the living..He was compliant aND HE STILL GOT SHOT!!

So tell me again how All lives matter and how Blue Lives matter!!!

Everybody's damn life seems to matter except a Black life!

Weekend Humor

A guy is sitting in a bar, absolutely drooling at a pretty young thing
in her short, pink mini-dress. Using the time honored ice breaker, he
sends her a drink.

"How lucky am I," he thinks, as she gets up to come sit next to him.

They strike up a wonderful conversation.

Finally the girl turns to him and says, "Look, you seem like a really
nice guy, so I have to tell you that I'm a working girl. I get two
hundred dollars for what you think you'll ply out of me with liquor."

He replies, "I have no problem with the money but, since you were so
straight forward I must tell you that when I come, I go nuts. I bite,
scratch, kick, punch, pull hair, break
furniture, and just plain destroy the place."

"Oh my God! How long does that last?" she asked.

"Just until I get my two hundred bucks back," he replied.

The Hypocrisy Of People Who Say "All Lives Matter"

I didn't write this...but I am sharing this...I could have very well have written this-

From a good fraternal Brother of Kappa Alpha Psi ,Brother LMani S. Viney, an educator in inner city New Jersey. He pretty much summed up what Rev. TD Jakes prayed about. This prayer is a modern day may equivalent to the Dr. Martin Luther King I have a dream speech. MUST READ and share. Thank you...
For those of you pushing the ‪#‎AllLivesMatter‬ mantra here is why many in the African American community are hurt by that statement.

When 9/11 happened African Americans placed American flags outside their house or helped out at Ground Zero

When Columbine took place we shared in the same Grief and support as all Americans.

When the massacre at Sandy Hook took place we hugged our children just as tight. We sent our prayers just as strong as all Americans.

We the massacre at Virginia Tech took place we too shouted for gun control.

When Charlie Hebo's staff was massacred by terrorists we too as African Americans changed our avatars to France's Flag.

When the Orlando shooting took place we too either changed our avatar in solidarity with the LGBT community or offered our prayers and condolences.

When the two officers were senselessly killed in NY last year we too prayed for the families and those officers.

When news of the 5 officers were killed yesterday the only thing that changed for African Americans was the level of grief, sadness and depression increasing and prayers for the slain officers and their families.

Why? Because we as African Americans believe in All Lives Mattering. So why do we say Black Lives matter?

Every time there has been an unjust death of a Black person, the only community that seems to express that grief is the Black community. As the shooting of ‪#‎AltonSterling‬ and ‪#‎PhilandroCastile‬ happened there was nothing but pure traumatizing grief on darn near every Black persons page.

Yet when I went onto my white friends pages? Nothing. You would almost think it was a normal day.
And this is not the first time.

This happened with Tamir Rice.

This happened with Oscar Grant

This happened with Mike Brown

This happened with Walter Scott

The most heartbreaking of all for me was Hurricane Katrina. I will never forget how thousands of African Americans lay stranded with nothing in New Orleans and yet 100,000 people -mostly white-filled LSU's stadium (only an hour away) to watch a football game as people lay dying.
Like the most evil game of groundhogs day, grief and anger for the Black community and not a peep of support from the white community in general.

So don't tell me #AllLivesMatter when every time there is a tragedy in the Black community we have to justify our anger and grief. Don't tell me #AllLivesMatter when the victims of racial discrimination, police brutality and hate crimes are put on trail rather than the assailants. Don't tell me #AllLivesMatter when instead of sharing in my pain, my fears and empathizing you challenge me to justify it. Enough.

So the reason we say ‪#‎BlackLivesMatter‬ is because all we want is the same level of support that every other group gets.

#AllLivesMatter? Of course. And we know it

More than others because you will be hard pressed to Find ANY African American that would want anyone to go through what we go through in having to justify our existence and right to human dignity in this country.

But until we get that we will continue to say #BlackLivesMatter until our lives matter just as much as the lives of people from other countries, Officers, your neighborhoods, a lion named Cecil, a gorilla named Harambee means to you.

Prayers to every person affected by violence.

BLACK LIVES MATTER TOO!

Keith's Favorite Quotes

Blood On The Flag

Since I last wrote on here...There has been another murder of a young black man by police...This time in a Minneapolis-St.Paul Suburb....

Philando Castile, the young man in Minnesota was licensed to carry a concealed weapon in Minnesota. This means that he was a law abiding citizen...Not a Thug as folks are quick to say when something like this happens.. This means that he, like other concealed permit holders are taught across the country, was preparing to provide his drivers license and weapons permit to the officer when he was shot! I know this how? because his girlfriend had the presence of mind to calmly explain to the world what had happened in real time on her smartphone and live stream it on Facebook.... People are always saying "Well If they would just comply...they wouldn't get shot...HE WAS COMPLYING WITH THE OFFICER!!! WHAT MORE DO WE NEED TO DO?

I wrote these impassioned words on my Facebook page a few days ago...His death coming just twenty four hours after the death of Alton Sterling in Baton Rouge ,Louisiana at the hands of two cops...who tackled him and shot him to death during a tussle they initiated...

Naturally, people were outraged...and marches took place across the country...Here in Philadelphia, Atlanta, New York City ,Minneapolis -St. Paul and Dallas...

Last night..a misguided  individual ,Micah Xavier Johnson, 25..shot and killed five police officers and wounded six others in downtown Dallas...He was killed by police.

I condemn this act of senseless violence just as much as I do the two deaths of the young men in Baton Rouge,Lousiana  and Minnesota.

This was not the right response...

The World is going mad! Truly Going Mad...The spilling of innocent blood is never an answer to any thing...My sincere condolences to the families of the 5 police officers killed in Dallas Thursday night! More violence does not make the situation better!

America is seemingly more divided today than I can ever remember it being.. That's a lie...It's always been divided...This isn't new...It's just now people are being vocal and obvious about it and Social Media and Technology is showing us what was once quiet and unspoken...

It's time for healing...It's time for all Americans to come together and stop this foolishness...

To quote Dr. Martin Luther King Jr...

We'll either live together as Brothers or Perish together as fools!

With a heavy emphasis on fools!

PEACE!

Weekend Humor

The marriage of an 80 year old man and a 20 year old woman was the talk of the town. After being married a year, the couple went to the hospital for the birth of their first child.

The attending nurse came out of the delivery room to congratulate the old gentleman and said, ''This is amazing. How do you do it at your age?''

The old man grinned and said, ''Heh-heh-Heh...You got to keep the old motor running.''

The following year, the couple returned to the hospital for the birth of their second child.

The same nurse was attending the delivery and again went out to congratulate the old gentleman. She said, ''Sir, you are something else. How do you manage it?' The old man grinned and said, 'You gotta keep the old motor running.''

A year later, the couple returned to the hospital for the birth of their third child. The same nurse was there for this birth also and, after the delivery, she once again approached the old gentleman, smiled, and said, ''Well, my word...You surely are something else! How do you do it?' The old man replied, ''It's like I've told you before, you gotta keep the old motor running.''

The nurse, still smiling, patted him on the back and said: "Well, I guess it's time to change the oil. This one's Black.''
