Weekend Humor

A Yankee lawyer went duck hunting in eastern North Carolina. He shot and dropped a bird, but it fell into a farmer's field on the other side of a fence. As the lawyer climbed over the fence, an elderly gentleman asked him what he was doing. The lawyer responded, "I shot a duck and it fell in this field, I'm going into retrieve it."

The old farmer replied. "This is my property, and you are not coming over here."

The indignant lawyer said, "I am one of the best trial attorneys in the U.S. and, if you don't let me get that duck, I'll sue you and take everything! "

The old farmer smiled and said, "Apparently, you don't know how we do things here in North Carolina. We settle small disagreements like this with the NC Three-Kick Rule."

The lawyer asked, "What in the hell is the NC three-Kick Rule?" he asked.

The Farmer replied. "Well, first I kick you three times and then you kick me three times, and so on, back and forth, until someone gives up."

The Yankee attorney quickly thought about the proposed contest and decided that he could easily take the old southerner. He agreed to abide by the local custom.

The old farmer slowly climbed down from the tractor and walked up to the city feller. His first kick planted the toe of his heavy work boot into the Yankee lawyer's groin and dropped him to his knees.

His second kick nearly wiped the man's nose off his face.

The barrister was flat on his belly when the farmer's third kick to a kidney nearly caused him to give up.

The Yankee lawyer summoned every bit of his will and managed to get to his feet and said, "Okay, you old redneck southerner, now it's my turn."

The old North Carolina farmer smiled and said, "Naw, I give up. You can have the duck."

Everybody have a kick ass weekend and holiday!

A Mother's White Priviledge

If we are ever going to get past this thing called race in America and truly have a Post Racial America..We are going to have to have an honest dialouge....Both sides...Black and white and include others...Latinos, Asians, Native Americans and others..We've all got to discuss what scares us , what annoys us and be honest....and mor eimportantly forgiving....

It's the only way we can move on.....

This letter I'm going to share with you was brought to my attention by my wife, who more than any other person is responsible for this blog you are reading even existing...

It's a fantastic and eye opening article called a "Mother's White Priviledge"-

As the ongoing events in Ferguson, Missouri show us, America's racial tensions didn't disappear when George Wallace backed down from the schoolhouse door. Dr. King didn't wave a magic wand, and we never got together to feel all right. White America remembers this at ugly flashpoints: the Rodney King beatings, the OJ Simpson trial, the Jena Six, Trayvon Martin's death.

White America recoils in horror not at the crimes -- though the crimes are certainly horrible. It's not the teenagers gunned down, the police abuse, the corrupt trials. It's this: at these sudden, raw moments, in these riots and demonstrations and travesties of justice, White America is forced to gaze upon the emotional roil of oppression, the anger and fear and deep grief endemic to the black American experience. Black America holds up a mirror for us.
And white America is terrified to look.

To admit white privilege is to admit a stake, however small, in ongoing injustice. It's to see a world different than your previous perception. Acknowledging that your own group enjoys social and economic benefits of systemic racism is frightening and uncomfortable. It leads to hard questions of conscience many of us aren't prepared to face. There is substantial anger: at oneself, at the systems of oppression, and mostly at the bearer of bad news, a convenient target of displacement. But think on this...

I have three sons, two years between each. They are various shades of blond, various shades of pinkish-white, and will probably end up dressing in polo shirts and button downs most of the time. Their eyes are blue and green. Basically, I'm raising the physical embodiment of The Man, times three. The White is strong in these ones.
Clerks do not follow my sons around the store, presuming they might steal something.
Their normal kid stuff -- tantrums, running, shouting - these are chalked up to being children, not to being non-white.

People do not assume that, with three children, I am scheming to cheat the welfare system.

When I wrap them on my back, no one thinks I'm going native, or that I must be from somewhere else.

When my sons are teenagers, I will not worry about them leaving the house. I will worry -- that they'll crash the car, or impregnate a girl, or engage in the same stupidness endemic to teenagers everywhere.

I will not worry that the police will shoot them.

If their car breaks down, I will not worry that people they ask for help will call the police, who will shoot them.

I will not worry that people will mistake a toy pistol for a real one and gun them down in the local Wal-Mart.

In fact, if my sons so desire, they will be able to carry firearms openly. Perhaps in Chipotle or Target.

They will walk together, all three, through our suburban neighborhood. People will think, Look at those kids out for a walk. They will not think, Look at those punks casing the joint.

People will assume they are intelligent. No one will say they are "well-spoken" when they break out SAT words. Women will not cross the street when they see them. Nor will they clutch their purses tighter.

My sons will never be mistaken for stealing their own cars, or entering their own houses.

No one will stop and frisk my boys because they look suspicious.

My boys can grow their hair long, and no one will assume it's a political statement.

My boys will carry a burden of privilege with them always. They will be golden boys, inoculated by a lack of melanin and all its social trapping against the problems faced by black America.

For a mother, white privilege means your heart doesn't hit your throat when your kids walk out the door. It means you don't worry that the cops will shoot your sons.
It carries another burden instead. White privilege means that if you don't school your sons about it, if you don't insist on its reality and call out oppression, your sons may become something terrifying.

Your sons may become the shooters.

I applaud this woman's honesty...I found her article fascinatingly honest...More honest than I am accustomed to hearing and reading from white commentors on Social media...Not that there aren't people like this woman around...but their voices too many times get drowned out by the crazy and the ignorant....

I love this woman's honesty and I pray that more people who really see it the way it is begin to speak out...and not just to me...but to their friends and relatives....

It's time to move toward a true post racial America...A race war or civil war has no winners...only losers....We could be so much better united than we are fragmented and seperated!

Weekend Humor

A chicken farmer goes into a local tavern, takes a seat at the bar next to a woman, and orders a glass of champagne. The woman perks up and says, "How about that? I just ordered a glass of champagne, too!"

He turns to her and says, "What a coincidence. This is a special day for me, I'm celebrating."

"No kidding? This is a special day for me, too, and I'm also celebrating," says the woman. "

"What a coincidence," says the man.

They clink glasses and he asks, "What are you celebrating?"

"My husband and I have been trying to have a child. Today, my gynecologist told me I'm pregnant!"she said gushing.

"What a coincidence," says the man.

"I'm a chicken farmer. For years all my hens were infertile, but today they're finally fertile." he said.

"That's great," says the woman. "How did your chickens become fertile?"

 "I switched cocks," he replies.

"What a coincidence," she said.

The Smear Is On (More from Ferguson)

The more I read about the situation in Ferguson, the more angry, frustrated and totally dis-illusioned I am becoming...Some idiot Police Commander put up a post saying that this man, Ron Johnson, the state policeman assigned to take over and restore order in Ferguson was shown throwing up gang signs...Immediately, other idiots...Most of them white,I hate to say who know nothing about Black culture and don't care to began echoing the same sentiments...Without getting any facts.

Nothing could be further from the truth...

Missouri Highway Patrol Captain Ron Johnson, shown in the photo above, the highway patrol captain placed in charge of security in Ferguson Missouri, was photographed making hand signs that some quickly thought were gang signs. The thing is, they were actually hand signs for the black fraternity Johnson has been part of, Kappa Alpha Psi.The same Fraternity that I am also a member of and have been a member of for some 34 years...

The Washington Post's Soraya Nadia McDonald in a post published early on Wednesday pointed out that the hand signs Johnson had been making in photographs some thought were gang signs were actually fraternity hand signs.
Soraya wrote:
To reiterate: Capt. Johnson is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi, a black fraternity that was formed in 1911 at Indiana University in Bloomington, and the hand sign you see in the pictures below is a Kappa greeting. The Kappas are part of the Divine Nine or the National Pan-Hellenic Council, the nine historically black fraternities and sororities that include Delta Sigma Theta, Alpha Kappa Alpha, Alpha Phi Alpha, Omega Psi Phi, Phi Beta Sigma, Zeta Phi Beta, Sigma Gamma Rho and Iota Phi Theta, none of which are gangs.

The idea that Johnson was actually displaying gang signs seem to have been rooted in a CNN iReport post that, as the Post points out, seems to have been taken down. But the idea that Johnson was a member of the Bloods or some other gang still gained momentum on Twitter.

By Wednesday though people started to point out the confusion.

This type of thing is done on purpose....The people that print these half truths know what they are doing...They have no value at all for that kid's life..(.or that man's life...)They could care less about his parents...All they care about is protecting that cop, even thought they know his story doesn't make sense.....

Think about it...For the sake of an argument...Say I just boosted some stuff from a store...What is the last thing I'm going to want to do?   Answer-Have any kind of confrontation with a police officer....

They want you to believe that Mike Brown lost his damn mind last week..He stole some cigarellos and on a humbug his next move was to grab an officer and try to take his gun from him and to pummell him....Where would the thought come from that that was a good idea enter anyone's mind?

They don't even care that this story makes no sense...They know that a great majority of non-thinking people will believe this...They always believe the worst about black males...

I'm personally tired of this horse shit...That's right..I said it... This situation makes me cuss more and more everyday....(And I promised my mother after I retired from the military that I was going to clean my mouth up of that bad habit I picked up...) but I can't help it...If you have any common sense...There is no way that this situation doesn't outrage...

There are many out there who could give a damn about my life, but my life certainly means something to me..I certainly give a damn about it, whether they do or not...There are entirely too many Mike Brown's ,Eric Garners, Jordan Davis's, Trayvon Martins...and I could go on...The next one might be just 28 hours away...

And those they don't outright kill, They smear and kill their reputation like they did my frat brother....No one is safe...

I'll stop right here...I'm cussin mad....What I write next, wouldn't be printable or very nice!

What They Saw

This thing going on in Ferguson, Missouri involving Michael Brown is disturbing me deeply...

An 18 year old young man is gunned down by a Police Officer...Who is then put on desk duty...and paid ,while his identity is kept a secret....

Then after much badgering , the man's identity is released along with a video of the victim ,18 year old Micheal Brown shoplifting cigarellos...The fifty cent package of little cigars from a store...

The smear campaign is on...In other words...Make the victim look like a criminal so you can justify his death...They did this with Trayvon and they are doing it again...

If you can..Watch the whole video...You'll see that Mike Brown actually paid for the cigarellos and that he may or may not be stealing something else...He has a brief conversation with someone in the store and is seen shoving the person...

Here is where it gets cute...Neither the store manager ,nor the employee says that they called in a report of a robbery!

There is no record of any robbery being called in...So minutes later when Mike Brown and his friend ran into the police officer identified as Darren Wilson...He knew nothing of any altercation or robbery...So releasing that video was cute, but has nothing to do with went down...

Here are some eye witnesses, shown above and what they say happened..Five ,mind you,  five eyewitnesses in the Michael Brown shooting case have come forward. All five witnesses had distinct vantage points: One person was with Mike Brown during the incident, one woman was inside her car, another woman observed the incident from her apartment balcony, one man was inside his apartment and another man was standing outside.

None of the eyewitnesses in this group—except for two—actually knew each other prior to the shooting. They could not have imagined that their lives would forever be intertwined as a result of what they allegedly witnessed that sunny afternoon in Ferguson, Mo.

Let's start with Dorian Johnson, Mike Brown's friend, who was with him when it happened... Johnson recounted the chilling confrontation. He said that a police car pulled up alongside Brown and him, and the officer—who has been identified as Darren Wilson—allegedly told Johnson and Brown to “Get the fuck on the sidewalk.”

The two men told the officer that they were only minutes away from their destination. Johnson said that Officer Wilson backed up his car and asked Brown and Johnson what they just said. Johnson claimed that Officer Wilson then tried to open his car door but the door ricocheted off of Brown’s body and closed again.

Johnson said that Officer Wilson then pulled Brown through the car window by his neck, and Brown began to try to pull away. Johnson said that Wilson shot Brown during the scuffle, and Brown managed to break away from Wilson’s grip. Brown and Johnson then began to run away from the police vehicle.

Johnson said that Wilson got out of his car and began to shoot at Brown while Brown was running away. Brown then stopped, put his hands in the air, turned around and pleaded with the officer to stop shooting, since he didn’t have a gun.

Johnson said that Wilson continued to fire several more shots before Brown’s body fell to the ground.

Then there is Tiffany Mitchell, who was visiting her employee in a nearby apartment complex.
Ms.Mitchell had never met or seen Michael Brown or Dorian Johnson. In fact, she’s not even from the area and was on her way to pick up an employee when the incident occurred.

During an interview with MSNBC, Ms.Mitchell said she was driving when she saw the confrontation at the point when Brown and Wilson were wrestling through the window. “Brown was pushing, trying to get away from the officer,” Ms. Mitchell explained, “and the officer was trying to pull him in.”

Ms. Mitchell’s and Mr. Johnson’s versions of events match up from that point on.

A shot was fired, and Mike Brown broke away and started to run down the street away from the police car. Mr. Mitchell said the officer then got out of his vehicle and started to pursue Brown, all the while shooting at him.

“Michael’s body jerked as if he were hit,” Tiffany Mitchell said. “Then he turns around and put his hands up, and the officer continued to walk up on him and shoot him, until he goes all the way down to the ground.”

Then there is Piaget Crenshaw, the woman who saw the incident while standing on her apartment balcony.

Piaget Crenshaw was the employee that Tiffany Mitchell was coming to pick up. She was standing on her apartment balcony and saw Mike Brown running away from Wilson.
I witnessed the police chase after the guy—full force,” Ms.Crenshaw told local news reporters in Ferguson. “[Brown] put his arm up to let them know that he was compliant and that he was unarmed, and they shot him twice more, and he fell to the ground and died.”

Piaget Crenshaw explained to reporters on the scene, “[Brown] was running this way, but his body is laying this way because he turned around to tell the police that he was unarmed.
“He didn’t have no weapon on him at all,” she continued. “They killed this boy for no reason, and there should be justice about this.”

Next you have Emmanuel Freeman, who reportedly tweeted about the shooting right after it happened...His tweet has since been taken down...but he basically says what the other three said that Mike Brown was running...Turned around and said something to the effect that he was not armed...Raised his hands and was still shot several times...
Six in all, the autopsy shows.

A man, who preferred to speak on condition of anonymity, told Fox2 News that he and Mike Brown had seen each other right before Brown went to the convenience store. The man said Brown told him that he was “feeling some bad vibes” but that the “Lord Jesus Christ” would help him through it. The man said that Brown said he’d return to continue their conversation after making a stop at the store.

Approximately 25 minutes later, the man heard gunfire and looked up and saw a man, who he didn’t know at the time was Mike Brown, “staggering and running.”

The man said that Brown put his hands up and started screaming, “OK! OK! OK! OK! OK!” The witness claims that the police officer didn’t tell Brown to get on the ground or anything.

He just started shooting,” the man continued, estimating that the officer shot Brown six or seven times after he turned around to seemingly surrender. “There’s no way you can justify it.”

No way you can...but I'm sure the Ferguson Police Department is working on it...These eyewitnesses may never get their day in court and because they are all African-American and young people, they are going to be discredited and branded liars and criminals themselves....This is how the game works...Remembered how they bullied Trayvon's girlfriend???

If any of these young people is anything less than a saint and a straight A. student, well that's going to be used to destroy their credibility....That's how the game is played..

Anyone still think this is Post Racial America?? And that Race doesn't play a part in these things?? That race had nothing to do with this?? Ask Eric Garner, Ask Sean Bell,Ask Jordan Davis, Ask Trayvon Martin and I could go on and on...

There are Mass Murderers like the Batman shooter in Denver, who shot up that movie theatre, killing 23 people, who was taken into custody...(He was armed mind you) without incident...and yet a Black kid may or may not have taken a 50 cent pack of cigarellos and he winds up dead????

Where they do that at?

He did not understand her remark, but later on happened to look down and saw that his zipper was open. He decided to have some fun with his new employee.

Calling her in, he asked, "By the way, Miss Jones, when you saw my barracks door open this morning, did you also see a big tall soldier standing at attention?"

The secretary, who was quite witty, replied, "Why, no sir, all I saw was a little disabled veteran, sitting on two duffel bags!"

We Have A Situation

We got a situation!  We got a situation in St. Louis....We got a situation in Amerika....Another unarmed Black male has been shot and killed...This time by a police officer.....Witnessess say the boy, Mike Brown had his hands up and was unarmed and the police officer STILL shot and killed him...

Let me guess...He was frightened for his life, right?  Isn't that the excuse George Zimmerman and Michael Dunn and the guy who shot the unarmed girl who came to his door asking for help because her car broke down used???

Isn't that what they always say- "I was frightened for my life"

This is getting real old and real quick!

If you don't know the latest incident I'm talking about...Here it is.. A black teenager who was fatally shot by a police officer had his hands raised when the officer approached him with his weapon drawn and fired repeatedly, according to two men who said they witnessed the shooting, which sparked a night of unrest in suburban St. Louis.

The FBI opened an investigation Monday into the death of 18-year-old Michael Brown, who police said was shot multiple times Saturday after being confronted by a white officer in Ferguson, a 21,000-resident suburb that's nearly 70 percent black.

Authorities were vague about exactly what led the officer to open fire, except to say that the shooting was preceded by a scuffle of some kind. It was unclear whether Brown or a man he was with was involved in the altercation.

Investigators have refused to publicly disclose the race of the officer, who is now on administrative leave. But Phillip Walker said he was on the porch of an apartment complex overlooking the scene when he heard a shot and saw a white officer with Brown on the street.

Mike Brown "was giving up in the sense of raising his arms and being subdued," Walker told The Associated Press on Monday. The officer "had his gun raised and started shooting the individual in the chest multiple times." The officer then "stood over him and shot him" after the victim fell wounded.

Dorian Johnson offered a similar account when he told WALB-TV that he and Brown were walking home from a convenience store when a police officer told them to get out of the street and onto the sidewalk. Johnson said they kept walking, which caused the officer to confront them from his car and again after getting out of his car.

Phillip Johnson said the first time the officer fired, he and Mike Brown got scared and ran away.

"He shot again, and once my friend felt that shot, he turned around and put his hands in the air, and he started to get down," Johnson said. "But the officer still approached with his weapon drawn and fired several more shots."

"We wasn't causing harm to nobody," Johnson said. "We had no weapons on us at all."
Phillip Walker acknowledged that he did not see a scuffle or the circumstances surrounding the first gunshot.

The St. Louis County Police Department refused to discuss Johnson's remarks,(but of course) citing the ongoing investigation. But county Police Chief Jon Belmar previously said that an officer encountered Brown and another man outside an apartment complex, and that one of the men pushed the officer into his squad car and they struggled over the officer's weapon.

The FBI is looking into possible civil rights violations arising from the shooting, said Cheryl Mimura, a spokeswoman for the FBI's St. Louis field office. She said the FBI would be investigating regardless of the public attention surrounding the matter.
Attorney General Eric Holder said in a statement that the case deserves a thorough review.

Nearly three dozen people were arrested following a candlelight vigil Sunday night after crowds looted and burned stores, vandalized vehicles, assaulted and threatened reporters, and taunted officers who tried to block access to parts of the city.

Deanel Trout, a 14-year resident of Ferguson, was convinced the troublemakers were largely from outside Ferguson and that they used Brown's death and the vigil as an opportunity to steal.

"I can understand the anger and unrest, but I can't understand the violence and looting," Trout said.

St. Louis County police spokesman Brian Schellman said 32 people were arrested for various offenses, including assault, burglary and theft. Two officers suffered minor injuries, and there were no reports of civilians hurt.

Several businesses were looted, including a check-cashing store, a boutique and a small grocery store. People also took items from a sporting goods store and a cellphone retailer and carted rims away from a tire store.

Some climbed atop police cars as the officers with riot shields and batons stood stoically nearby, trying to restrict access to the most endangered areas. Tear gas had been used, St. Louis County Executive Charlie Dooley's spokeswoman said.

On Monday, the scene of the shooting since was marked with a makeshift memorial of candles and signs in the middle of the narrow, apartment-lined street where Brown fell dead.

Brown's father, also named Michael Brown, visited that site Monday afternoon, at one point straightening a wooden cross on the memorial. He abruptly left after gunshots rang out a block away. There were no immediate reports of injuries from that gunfire.
Ferguson Police Chief Tom Jackson said there's no video footage of the shooting from the apartment complex or from any police cruiser dashboard cameras or body-worn cameras that the department recently bought but has not yet put to use.

The second person has not been arrested or charged, and it was not clear if he was armed, Jackson said. Blood samples were taken from Brown and the officer who shot him for toxicology tests, which can take weeks to complete.

Brown's mother, Lesley McSpadden, said she did not understand why police did not subdue her son with a club or stun gun. She said the officer involved should be fired and prosecuted, adding that "I would like to see him go to jail with the death penalty."

The killing drew criticism from some civil rights leaders, who referred to the 2012 racially charged shooting of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin by a Florida neighborhood watch organizer who was acquitted of murder charges.

Brown's family planned to speak publicly later Monday with their attorney, Benjamin Crump, who also represented Martin's family.

John Gaskin, who serves on both the St. Louis County and national boards of directors for the NAACP, said the group was "outraged because yet again a young African-American man has been killed by law enforcement."

Yes...Once again this happens...and I am certain that I can count on these things to happen...That the victim, Mike Brown, who had no criminal record whatsoever and would have in fact started college today....will be painted as a thug and it will somehow look like it was his fault that he got killed...Just like unarmed Trayvon Martin was portrayed as a thug and blamed for his murder...While George Zimmerman came off like a poor victimized and frightened man...I am certain this will happen...

I am certain that thee officer involved will somehow be exonerated...Doesn't that always happen...

I am also certain that opportunistic thugs and the criminal element in the Black community will use this , well they are using this as an opportunity to riot and loot, which will cause them to get arrested and charged and possibly shot...

It seems that as long as this has happened..Nobody learns anything..The White people don't learn and they have the same knee jerk reactions... "He must have been doing something wrong....The officer wouldn't have shot him if he wasn't...He is after all a Black male...He must be guilty of something." Most of the hateful comments that are written on social media come from folks who have never been stopped in a department store or questioned by police because they looked like they might be up to something or they looked like they didn't belong in a certain area....It's happened to me...I know first hand of what I speak...

And the Black people don't seem to learn that rioting and looting not only sends the wrong message ,but that we tend to be the biggest losers in these exchanges....We get shot and we wind up in jail with multiple charges....and it's our homes and businesses that get burned out ,making an already impoverished neighborhood look worse!

America in general doesn't learn..America hasn't learned.....How many times has this same scenario played itself out in Detroit,Philadelphia, New York City,Chicago, Miami,Money,Mississippi, Los Angelas....fill in the blank _________________.

It's getting soooo old....

Weekend Humor

A man was in court for a double murder, and the judge said, "Young man, You are charged with beating your wife to death with a hammer."

A voice at the back of the courtroom yelled out, "You lousy bastard! If That don't beat all..."

The judge continued, "You are also charged with beating your mother-in-law to death with a hammer."

Again, the voice at the back of the courtroom yelled out, "You damned lying bastard! I swear, I could kill you myself...you lying...liar!"

The judge stopped, looked at the man in the back of the courtroom, and said, "Sir, I can  certainly understand your anger and frustration at this crime, but I will not have any more of these outbursts from you, or I shall charge you with contempt! Now is that a problem?"

The man at the back of the court stood up and responded, "For fifteen years, fifteen years! I have lived next door to that bastard, and every time I asked to borrow a hammer, he said he never had one!"

It Was Murder!

See the man in the photo above, smiling happily with his wife?  He's dead! Why?  That's a good question..One that a coroner answered yesterday in New York..

The New York City medical examiner ruled yesterday that a police officer's chokehold caused the death of a man whose videotaped arrest and final pleas of "I can't breathe!" sparked outrage and led to the announcement of a complete overhaul of use-of-force training for the nation's largest police force.

Eric Garner, 43, a black man whose confrontation with a white police officer has prompted calls by the Rev. Al Sharpton for federal prosecution, was killed by neck compressions from the chokehold as well as "the compression of his chest and prone positioning during physical restraint by police," said medical examiner spokeswoman Julie Bolcer.

Asthma, heart disease and obesity were contributing factors in the death of Garner, a 6-foot-3, 350-pound father of six, she said.

The finding increases the likelihood that the case will be presented to a grand jury to determine whether Daniel Pantaleo, the officer who placed Garner in the chokehold, or any other officers involved in the confrontation will face criminal charges. Pantaleo's attorney, Stuart London, declined to comment Friday.
Garner's wife, Esaw, told the Daily News, "Thank God the truth is finally out.

Mayor Bill de Blasio extended his sympathies to Garner's family in a statement and pledged to continue repairing the relationship between minority communities and the NYPD.

"I've said that we would make change, and we will," he said.

Partial video of the July 17 confrontation shows an officer placing a chokehold on Garner, who was being arrested for selling untaxed, loose cigarettes. He then apparently loses consciousness.
Chokeholds are prohibited by the New York Police Department.

Prosecutors on Staten Island, the borough where the confrontation occurred, are investigating. A spokesman for Daniel Donovan, the Staten Island district attorney, said prosecutors were still investigating the death and awaited a full autopsy report and death certificate from the medical examiner. Donovan will have to determine whether to empanel a grand jury and charge officers in the death of Garner.

Federal officials are monitoring the progress of the New York investigation, Justice Department spokeswoman Dena Iverson said, adding that the department has not begun its own inquiry into the death.
In a statement, police Commissioner Bill Bratton said officials were aware of the medical examiner's findings and said the department is cooperating with prosecutors. He has said the NYPD's use-of-force training is lacking, pledged to retrain all 35,000 officers and dispatched a team to Los Angeles to develop a state-of-the-art program.

Officer Pantaleo was stripped of his gun and badge pending the investigation, and another was placed on desk duty. Two paramedics and two EMTs were suspended without pay.

Patrick Lynch, president of the powerful Patrolmen's Benevolent Association, expressed his sympathies to Garner's family in a statement but noted that Garner "was a man with serious health problems."  All the more reason he shouldn't have been choked.

"We believe, however, that if he had not resisted the lawful order of the police officers placing him under arrest, this tragedy would not have occurred," he said. Amazing that they keep saying he resisted arrest...I've watched film footage of the confrontation...No way was he resisting arrest..His hands are stretched outward...At no time did he swing or fight with police...They rat packed him..One officer had his foot on the man's head... He appeared to be pleading for them to stop....Saying-"I can't breathe...I can't breathe."

Eric Garner's family will join Reverend Al Sharpton  today to address the medical examiner's ruling, a spokeswoman said.

Ramsey Orta, 22, a friend of Garner's who videotaped his struggle with police, said in an interview that the medical examiner's ruling wasn't surprising.
"I knew that was the cause because I saw it," he said. "Now somebody should get charged."

Now the question is...Will they?

Weekend Humor

A man was walking along the street when he saw a ladder going into the clouds. As any of us would do, he climbed the ladder. He reached a cloud, upon which sat a rather plump and very ugly woman. "Screw me or climb the ladder to success," she said.

No contest, thought the man, so he climbed the ladder to the next cloud. On this cloud was a slightly thinner woman, who was slightly easier on the eye. "Screw me hard or climb the ladder to success," she said. "Well," thought the man, "might as well carry on."

On the next cloud was an even more attractive lady who, this time, was quite attractive. "Screw me now or climb the ladder to success," she uttered. As he turned her down and went on up the ladder, the man thought to himself that this was getting better the further he went.

On the next cloud was an absolute beauty. Very, very attractive, very hot. "Screw me here and now or climb the ladder to success," she flirted. Unable to imagine what could be waiting, and being a gambling man, he decided to climb again. When he reached the next cloud, there was a 400 pound ugly man, arm pit hair showing, flies buzzing around his head.

"Who the hell are you?" the man asked.

"Hello" said the ugly fat man, "I'm Cess!"

Everybody have a super groovy weekend!
