WHEREFORE ART THOU, MITT ROMNEY?
By Ralph Maxwell

O, Romney-O, Romney-O, Wherefore art thou, Mitt Romney?
You flip-flop here, you flip-flop there,
You flip-flop almost ev'rywhere.
You ballyhoo what you're gonna do
And then you pull a switcheroo;
You now malign what you found fine;
Seems like you've got a jellyfish spine./

Obamacare, by you begun,
Now you'd trash it on day one.
Gun control you did extol,
But now you're preaching decontrol.
O, Romney-O, Romney-O, Wherefore art thou, Mitt Romney?
We've got no clue what you will do
Or what new view you'll pander to./

Time was you championed women's choice,
But you no longer heed their voice;
On gay rights, too, guess you withdrew
Support they once enjoyed from you.
Global warming, EPA,
Immigration, minimum pay,
Roe V. Wade, also fair trade,
All joined your flip-flop cavalcade../

O, Romney-O, Romney-O Wherefore art thou, Mitt Romney?
So many things that you were for
You've turned against and slammed the door.
Stimulus and cap and trade,
Education, foreign aid,
Campaign reform, tarp rescues, too,
All victims of your switcheroo./

You take your stand on shifting sand,
We never know where you will land;
You vacillate, and you fabricate,
A wishy-washy candidate.
O, Romney-O, Romney-O, Wherefore art thou Mitt Romney?/

As gov'nor you let taxes rise,
Now ev'ry tax you demonize.
You say regardless of the facts
You'd take an axe to the millionaire's tax;
You'd feed the greed of the richest few
The poor and middle class you'd screw.
Your tax returns you hide from view
What evil lurks there we've no clue;
If they're not bad why hesitate?
Is it that they incriminate?/

O, Romney-O, Romney-O, Wherefore art thou Mitt Romney?
At Bain you plundered with a flair
And walked away a zillionaire.
You shipped off-shore, good jobs galore
To China, India, Singapore;
A job creator you are not./

And to boast you are is tommyrot.
As a total fraud, Mitt's got no peer;
What we must do is crystal clear:
Let's give Obama four more years!
Yes, it's Obama – four more years!
FOUR MORE YEARS!
FOUR MORE YEARS!
FOUR MORE YEARS!

Special Thank you to Poet, Ralph Maxwell!

Have a great weekend everybody!

The President's Newest Fan!

Governor Chris Christie of New Jersey, who I have often called Governor "Krispy Kreme" will get no such name calling from me today.  I call a truce...The Republican Governor put politics aside and tended to the business of taking care of the populace in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, which has ravaged New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York City...and for that, I give the Republican Gov his due props.

The presidential candidates had canceled all campaign events on Tuesday, but Republican New Jersey Governor, Chris Christie seemed to be stumping for President Barack Obama by appearing on several networks to praise the federal response to Hurricane Sandy.

In an interview on NBC, Governor Christie called  President Obama “outstanding” for expediting relief efforts.

He also told MSNBC that President Obama “deserves great credit.” “He gave me his number at the White House and told me to call him if I needed anything,” Christie said.

The New Jersey governor even took his message to Fox News of all places, saying that President Obama had helped “tremendously.”

“I spoke to the president three times yesterday,” he explained. “He called me for the last time at midnight last night asking what he could do. I said, if you can expedite designating New Jersey as a major disaster area that that would help us to get federal money and resources in here as quickly as possible to help clean up the damage here.”

The president was great last night,” Governor Christie continued. “He said he would get it done. At 2 a.m., I got a call from FEMA to answer a couple of final questions and then he signed the declaration this morning. So I have to give the president great credit. He’s been on the phone with me three times in the last 24 hours. He’s been very attentive, and anything that I’ve asked for, he’s gotten to me. So, I thank the president publicly for that. He’s done — as far as I’m concerned — a great job for New Jersey.”

Now you know that FOX News aint tryin to hear that.Fox News co-host Steve Doocy wondered when Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney was going to get some of the same benefits from the hurricane with a photo op in disaster-stricken New Jersey towns.

Over the last couple of months, you have appeared throughout the country, Governor, on behalf of Mitt Romney,” Doocy remarked to Christie. “[W]e hear that perhaps Mr. Romney may do some storm-related events. Is there any possibility that Gov. Romney may go to New Jersey to tour some of the damage with you?”

I have to have big love for Governor Christie for what he said next.

I have no idea, nor am I the least bit concerned or interested,” Governor Christie replied, immediately shutting down that idea. “I’ve got a job to do here in New Jersey that’s much bigger than presidential politics and I could care less about any of that stuff.” “I have a job to do,” he added. “I’ve got 2.4 million people out of power, I’ve got devastation on the shore, I’ve got floods in the northern part of my state. If you think right now I give a damn about presidential politics then you don’t know me.”

WOW!  He just restored my faith in bi-partisan politics and human decency.....I give credit where credit is due... How nice to see a politician actually concerned about the welfare of the populace he is governing...So big ups to the President's newest fan, Chris Christie!

FRANKENSTORM!!!

This photo was taken a few days ago.....Hurricane Sandy as it is now called is on it's way to my home city of Philadelphia...

They have declared a state of emergency....Told everybody to get off the streets and to "hunker down." Most places of employment ,including all city services are closed tomorrow. I'm firing this blog post off now because according to news services...We may lose power and internet services tomorrow.90 mile winds and gushing rain is predicted... I just hope there is no flooding...

Unlike last year during Hurricane Irene, I am not taking this that serious....I mean...we went grocery shopping yesterday and today...we have batteries and flashlights...The house is secure and my car is parked in what I believe is a safe place... I don't believe I can do anything more... I certainly don't plan to go out in the street if I don't have to and I relish the chance to sleep late ....But for some reason...I'm not convinced that this is all that serious....I guess by the time those of you who live in other parts of the country read this...I'll know for sure.

II-

From Washington to Boston, big cities and small towns buttoned up on Sunday against the onslaught of a superstorm that could menace 50 million people in the most heavily populated corridor in the nation, with forecasters warning New York could be in particular peril.
"The time for preparing and talking is about over," Federal Emergency Management Administrator Craig Fugate said as Hurricane Sandy made its way up the Atlantic on a collision course with two other weather systems that could turn it into one of the most fearsome storms on record in the U.S. "People need to be acting now."

Airlines canceled more than 5,000 flights and Amtrak began suspending train service across the Northeast. New York and Philadelphia moved to shut down their subways, buses and trains Sunday night and announced that schools would be closed on Monday. Boston, Washington and Baltimore also called off school.

As rain from the leading edges of the monster hurricane began to fall over the Northeast, hundreds of thousands of people in coastal areas from Maryland to Connecticut were under evacuation orders Sunday, including 375,000 in lower Manhattan and other parts of New York City, 50,000 in Delaware and 30,000 in Atlantic City, N.J., where the city's 12 casinos were forced to shut down for only the fourth time ever.
"We were told to get the heck out. I was going to stay, but it's better to be safe than sorry," said Hugh Phillips, who was one of the first in line when a Red Cross shelter in Lewes, Del., opened at noon.

"I think this one's going to do us in," said Mark Palazzolo, who boarded up his bait-and-tackle shop in Point Pleasant Beach, N.J., with the same wood he used in past storms, crossing out the names of Hurricanes Isaac and Irene and spray-painting "Sandy" next to them. "I got a call from a friend of mine from Florida last night who said, 'Mark. Get out! If it's not the storm, it'll be the aftermath. People are going to be fighting in the streets over gasoline and food.'"

Sandy, a Category 1 hurricane with sustained winds of 75 mph as of Sunday evening, was blamed for 65 deaths in the Caribbean before it began churning up the Eastern Seaboard. As of 5 p.m., it was centered about 530 miles southeast of New York City, moving at 15 mph, with hurricane-force winds extending an incredible 175 miles from its center.

Keep us in prayer folks...

The Donald's BiG Bombshell!

So we all waited with baited breath when Donald Trump announced that he had some blockbuster news about ''Obama"...News that might change the election!

This is what he came up with!

And well, I've got to tell you... This sure wasn't worth waiting for. Professional loud-speaking person Donald Trump has dropped the "bombshell" he promised would upend President Obama's campaign for re-election.

 Turns out all the Donald wants is a little transparency from the prez. "We know very little about our president," he says loudly. So in exchange for President Obama releasing his college and passport records, the real-estate mogul will donate $5 million to the charity of President Obama's choice. Sounds like a circus stunt by a carnival barker to me.

Donald Trump says President Obama has until Oct. 31 to produce the documents, and not surprisingly, Social media is disappointed. As @ninatypewriter said, "Donald Trump has a different definition for the word bombshell than the rest of the world."

"We know very little about our president," says  Donald Trump loudly. I'll tell you what we do know about Donald Trump...That's he's an idiot!  I've suspected he was for years now....But today..I'm convinced!

Empty Suit

Okay,so I watched last night's final debate and for the life of me...I can not understand why at this point...Anyone on the planet is undecided about who they will vote for in the coming election.

I listened to Mitt Romney talk about this five point plan he has to get America moving again and to get good jobs, good paying jobs back on the docket and make America ,militarily stronger again.

He sang the same old tired song about tax cuts and sending entitlement programs to the states (who are already financially strapped) to run and increase the military budget by giving them more money than even they asked for.

Mitt Romney had ample time to prepare to discuss foreign policy, and a team of Bush/Cheney administration officials to tell him how to at least sound like he's answering the questions, but he repeatedly tried to change the subject away from foreign policy during the debate on foreign policy.

 Over the course of 90 minutes, Romney mentioned Osama bin Laden twice, mentioned food stamps three times, and mentioned school teachers eight times. Plenty of strategists have said voters will find this compelling, since domestic issues trump international affairs in 2012, but no candidate benefits from appearing weak. This was a debate in which Romney was supposed to appear ready to lead a nation during a time of war and international "tumult." Instead, Romney appeared to be running for governor, not president.

Now I'm not ,nor never have been the best math student in the world....But even I can see that his numbers don't add up. Mitt's right wing base has to see that too...I suspect that they don't care... Their racism and their hatred of President Obama is so great that
it doesn't really matter what Mitt says (He  surprisingly agreed with the way President Obama handled a lot of Foreign Policy issues...So much so that his right wing /Tea party base had to be pulling their hair out.)

I don't think Mitt Romney has an original thought in his head. I also think that he will say anything, agree with any position at the moment to get consensus and win an election... Hell, Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich...(not exactly my favorite people in the world) have said as much about Mitt Romney....Face it...He's an empty suit!

And there are some of you out there -WHO STILL HAVE NOT MADE UP YOUR MIND AS TO WHO YOU ARE GOING TO VOTE FOR????

You gotta be kidding?

Tied Up?

They tell me that this thing is all tied up!  They tell me that this means that Mitt Romney has gained some momentum....Stranger things have happened..even in American politics...When you have several millionaires sinking a crap load of money into attack ads and mass hysteria...Nothing surprises me.

Heading into tomorrow nights final debate and with just over two weeks until Election Day, President Barack Obama and Republican nominee Mitt Romney are now tied nationally, according the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.

PresidentObama and Romney both get 47 percent among likely voters in the latest edition of the poll, conducted entirely in the aftermath of the second presidential debate last Monday. In the last national NBC/WSJ poll, which was conducted before debate season began, the president held a narrow, three-point lead over his GOP challenger, 49 percent to 46 percent.

But among the wider pool of all registered voters in this new survey, PresidentObama is ahead of Mitt Romney by five points, 49 percent to 44 percent. I don't know what to believe at this point.

Looking at some of the most important demographic groups,Mitt  Romney leads among men (53 percent to 43 percent), President Obama is up with women (51 percent to 43 percent) and they are essentially tied among voters in the Midwest.

The full poll — which was conducted Oct. 17-20 among 1,000 registered voters and 816 likely voters — will be released by the time you all are reading this.

The margin of error is plus-minus 3.1 percentage points for the sample of registered voters and plus-minus 3.43 percentage points for the sample of likely voters.

Forget the polls...Watch the debate tonight...The final one....It's getting closer and closer to game time people!

Weekend Humor

Okay...Here is the joke-(The other joke!)

While walking down the street one day a Corrupt Senator (that may be redundant) was tragically hit by a car and died. His soul arrives in heaven and is met by St. Peter at the entrance.

"Welcome to heaven," says St.. Peter. "Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem. We seldom see a high official around these parts, you see, so we're not sure what to do with you."

"No problem, just let me in," says the Senator.

"Well, I'd like to, but I have orders from the higher ups. What we'll do is have you spend one day in hell and one in heaven. Then you can choose where to spend eternity."

"Really?, I've made up my mind. I want to be in heaven," says the Senator.

"I'm sorry, but we have our rules."

And with that, St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell. The doors open and he finds himself in the middle of a green golf course. In the distance is a clubhouse and standing in front of it are all his friends and other politicians who had worked with him.

Everyone is very happy and in evening dress. They run to greet him, shake his hand, and reminisce about the good times they had while getting rich at the expense of the people.

They played a friendly game of golf and then dine on lobster, caviar and the finest champagne. Also present is the devil, who really is a very friendly guy who is having a good time dancing and telling jokes.

They are all having such a good time that before the Senator realizes it, it is time to go. Everyone gives him a hearty farewell and waves while the elevator rises.

The elevator goes up, up, up and the door reopens in heaven where St. Peter is waiting for him, "Now it's time to visit heaven...”

So, 24 hours passed with the Senator joining a group of contented souls moving from cloud to cloud, playing the harp and singing. They have a good time and, before he realizes it, the 24 hours have gone by and St. Peter returns.

"Well, then, you've spent a day in hell and another in heaven. Now choose your eternity."

The Senator reflects for a minute, then he answers: "Well, I would never have said it before, I mean heaven has been delightful, but I think I would be better off in hell."

So St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell... Now the doors of the elevator open and he's in the middle of a barren land covered with waste and garbage.

He sees all his friends, dressed in rags, picking up the trash and putting it in black bags as more trash falls to the ground. The devil comes over to him and puts his arm around his shoulders.

"I don't understand," stammers the Senator.

"Yesterday I was here and there was a golf course and clubhouse, and we ate lobster and caviar, drank champagne, and danced and had a great time. Now there's just a wasteland full of garbage and my friends look miserable. What happened?"

The devil smiles at him and says, "Yesterday we were campaigning, Today, you voted.."
> Have a great weekend everybody!

Tuesday's Lessons

We've got one more debate to go...Monday night in Boca....Boca hasn't been too good for Mitt Romney....Isn't this where he made the notorious 47% statement at that closed dinner??

He'd better hope that that wasn't an omen of bad luck and bad things to come as he heads toward the final debate next week.

Some final thoughts on Tuesday night's debate...If former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney controlled the terms of the debate two weeks ago in Denver, the opposite was true here Tuesday night. It was President Obama on offense for much of the night, and it was Mitt Romney playing defense.

 The overall outcome at Hofstra University wasn't as one-sided or decisive as it was two weeks ago. Indeed, the GOP presidential nominee was strong on the economy and litigating President Obama's four years in office, and he brought plenty of energy. But just like we saw in Denver, the body language told the real story: You had Republicans, not Democrats, complaining about the moderator this time; there was the Romney campaign saying afterward, “What we really meant to say was blah,blah,blah"

And you saw President  Obama lingering with the crowd after the debate (when it was Mitt Romney who did that two weeks ago). Also, unlike President Obama’s performance in Denver, there were some uncomfortable moments for Mitt Romney (the exchange on Libya, “binders full of women,”et al. President Obama’s my-pension-isn’t-as-big-as-yours line) that have the potential to be problematic for his campaign over the next couple of days.

II-

Did you learn anything Tuesday? If you learned anything Tuesday night, as well as in Denver, it’s that the issue terrain matters. While the first two questions last night -- on a young college student’s job prospects and on gas prices -- were right up Mitt Romney’s alley, many more of the following questions were tailor-made for President Obama. Pay equality for women. Immigration. George W. Bush.

The President used those questions, which didn’t surface two weeks ago, to draw his sharpest contrasts with Mitt Romney. In fact, a good chunk of the debate was an exercise in micro-targeting, particularly for the President. You saw both President Obama and Mitt Romney making their pitches to female voters and Latinos, who happen to be two of the most important demographic groups in this election.

Monday, I heard pundits on CNN and MSNBC that the town-hall debate was an opportunity for  Mitt Romney to make more inroads with female voters, especially those in the suburbs.  So did a debate that shined a spotlight on the Lilly Ledbetter Act, abortion, and contraception end up helping Mitt Romney with women? I don't think so.
Not the way he answered or rather danced around the questions.

The sharpest and most dramatic exchanges of the night was over Libya, a topic that has dogged the Obama administration over the past few weeks. President Obama said, “The day after the attack, governor, I stood in the Rose Garden and I told the American people and the world that we are going to find out exactly what happened, that this was an act of terror.” Romney later interjected, “I want to make sure we get that for the record, because it took the president 14 days before he called the attack in Benghazi an act of terror.” President Obama fired back, “Get the transcript.” Well, here is the transcript -- and here’s what  President Obama said in that Rose Garden speech: “No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, alter that character, or eclipse the light of the values that we stand for.”

 Now Mitt Romney would have been on safer ground if he charged that President Obama didn’t call it a coordinated terrorist attack by al Qaeda-affiliated elements, and the Romney spinners after the debate made that point. But Mitt Romney used a different term -- “act of terror” -- and President Obama DID SAY that. And afterward, Mitt Romney appeared rattled and shook (as we used to say on the street) after he allowed himself to get caught up on the losing end of a semantic argument. Mitt Romney was not the same candidate after that moment. He looked tired and weary!

Everybody said that..CBS, MSNBC and CNN all agreed and all had President Obama walking away with the win... So that makes it Team Obama 2....Team Romney, 1....Monday is the last round....of debates....

Tuesday November 6th is when the real decision will be made by the American People.See you then!
