I was very disappointed at the voter turn out a few days ago or rather the lack of it.....Why is it that we don't vote in droves unless something happens? Or there is a very electric and charismatic candidate that captures our imagination??
Why is it when we do vote we don't hold our candidates accountable? We elect them and that is that.
No it's not...and when something happens, all we can do is take to the streets and march and protest.
Newsflash...You can march and protest until the cows come home...It won't change a thing...
They're still marching and protesting in Ferguson....Did Darren Wilson get indicted? By anybody??
Voting and holding candidates accountable after you vote for them does change things...If you don't believe me...Go out to the suburbs...Where they do hold their elected officials accountable...Those politicians know that if they don't serve their constituents...They're out of a job next election...
That goes a long way towards actually serving people's needs.....In Philadelphia...everybody knows that the democrats have the city on lock and that they can parade any candidate in front of the people here and they will blindly vote them in office....A lot of times unopposed....
I'm saying this and I'm a Democrat...A registered one anyway...I would vote Republican sometimes if they weren't so crazy and racist and they said something that serves my needs..That not being the case..I am forced to vote Democrat...But sometimes I feel as though they take my vote for granted...
Still, I vote..Every election......I owe that much to my grandparents.....Who couldn't vote in their home states in the deep south at one time.....
I just wish more people felt the same...

I totally agree! What are our people thinking! Could they believe that someone else has their best interest at heart! I am in Jefferson and could not get to the poll. First time in all the 40year I Have been registered.
Stop by and I will tell you an interesting story. I can not believe that Goode lost and Blondell stayed!1010
