FERGUSON BURNS

"And I shouted out ,who killed the Kennedy's...When After All...It was You and Me" -Mick Jagger and Keith Richards- "Sympathy For The Devil" (1969)

Last night the grand jury in Ferguson ,Mo. declined to indict Officer Darren Wilson for the shooting of an unarmed Black Teenager...Michael Brown...I have to admit...I wasn't surprised....When I saw them bringing in the National Guard and all of the heavy artillery...I pretty much knew that the fix was in....

As expected...The news didn't sit to well with the crowd...
Rioting, looting and fires broke out and despite the heavy police and National Guard presence...They either were powerless to stop it or they just let it happen....Neither scenario surprises me....

I want to believe  so much in the rule of law, but everyday it gets harder and harder to believe in a system that protects and serves one group of people and just punishes another group...Everyday it gets harder for me to want to share citizenship with people who think of people with my skin color as animals and sub-human anyway and who sees people who share my skin color as wrong from the beginning...everyday it gets harder and harder for me to call myself an American......

Maybe if this didn't happen so much and so often...I could overlook this one case....But you see, it follows a pattern...Unarmed Black male shot and killed by White male ,with gun who then swears up and down...."I was afraid for my life....I was scared to death....I HAD TO DO IT!!!!!ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"   Despite how incredible the story sounds....People wind up believing it....and then to make matters worse....The dead victim is villified...If he has jay walked...If he has spit in the street when he was 12 ...If he has forgotten his grandmother's birthday......All of this will be dragged up and used to convince the public that this is a horrible person and so...He kind of deserved to get killed.

In Micheal Brown's case...Somebody brought up the fact that he stood at six feet and three inches and was over 300 pounds....Yessss...a very frightening man....I can see why the officer had to shoot him six times...To make sure he was dead....

So when this scenario keeps presenting itself and nine times out of ten you excuse the killer...I can't get too upset at the rage that has bubbled over...I don't condone rioting....and violence...But I understand frustration...I understand that sometimes you just get tired of hearing the same old bullshit.....

And we all are at fault.....All of us...White and Black...This is the world we made for our children....This is the world we refuse to change....for our children....and this is what we get......

AMERICA!  AMERICA...GOD SHED HIS GRACE ON THEE!

I understand your frustration but defeat is not an option. Not ever.

It was wrong. Point blank. That man killed an unarmed child. I don't give a damn if he was a "thug" or "thief". He was a child, a son, a human being. To take a life in such a manner tells me that the person who did it is a murderer. He may not answer now, but there will be a reckoning.

Sad thing is a lot of people will now have to find jobs. They burned down an Autozone, Barbershops and a few other businesses. Being unemployed on Thanksgiving is not a good look.

The other sad thing is a black man's life has no value in America. It is what it is.

Crazy. If you ask me. This was set up. The national guard called in. The announcement at 8pm at night. Instead of in the day time. Recipe for disaster when they knew they weren't going to indict.

Well cousin, I agree. We need God's grace. Nothing less will save us. That same serpent slinks among us, twisting truth for the benefit of wrong!

I'm glad God loves us all! Sometime soon we'll show our love for each other. In the meantime we must watch and pray. I say watch our children carefully and pray that we respond in love when, not if, they are killed in the street.
