The Season Of Forgiveness

This is supposed to be the season of forgiveness!   Do you have anybody you need to forgive? Is there someone who you wish would forgive you?

There is a person who I once considered a very close friend.  This person lives just a stone's throw away from me.. We had a falling out in the summer of 2008 that has never been repaired. This particular person "defirended" me on Facebook, ''Unfollowed" me on Twitter and sent me a notice that I was being  taken off of their "Evite" list....Whatever my offense, and believe me it was so minor ,I'm not going to waste your time even writing about it....I suppose that showed me didn't it?

I would often see this person in church, in a restaurant, at the supermarket...I would speak and they wouldn't open their mouth to speak back.  I was at  first very hurt and disappointed...but if you know me, you know that two things I do not do is kiss anybody's ass and feel regret about anything too long.  I 've moved on.  The thing we fell  out about is so far past me now that I barely remember all of the particulars, basically some he said, she said you said foolishness...The type of thing high school kids stress over, not two adults.

I know what you may be thinking..."That's just your side of it...what about how the other person feels?"  You're right...I'm not such a self centered , heartless guy that I can't feel for how the other person may feel..but I was never allowed to present my side of the story...I was accused of something and condemned....

Doesn't matter now...It was three years ago...I didn't kill anybody....Time for all parties to move on.  Forgiveness is divine...God forgives us everyday for our many transgressions and if given the chance, I would forgive and forget....but this person will never give me that chance.

You get to a point where you come to the end of your rope, the point of no return with people....I'm at that point with this person....I don't care about them forgiving me...(I don't feel as though I need their Forgiving.)

But this is the season of forgiving of letting bygones be bygones...If you can find it in your heart to forgive someone...by all means, do so....You're not just doing it for that person...you're doing it for yourself too..To free yourself!

Keith, great post as usual....There is personal pain and regret all over this...You are trying to put up a great strong and a little arrogant front...but your personal pain is dripping from this post.

Keith, I can identify with this post...There are some very petty people out there that hold on to the dumbest petty things for reasons that only make sense to them...Hold your head up high and just move on!

God puts people in your life and takes them out for a reason....Like the slogan says...Their part in the story of your life is now over..
